Transferring Files To and From your Virtual Private Server

One of the most basic tasks you will need to perform as a Virtual Private Server administrator is uploading and downloading files to and from your Virtual Private Server.

File Transfer Utilities

There are several programs that you can use to copy files between your local computer and your Virtual Private Server.

• iManager - The iManager File Manager allows you to use your own Web browser to upload and download files to and from your Virtual Private Server.

• FTP - File Transfer Protocol is a popular method for copying files between different computers. There are a number of FTP client programs available that you can use to copy files between your local computer and your Virtual Private Server.

• SMB File Sharing - SMB allows you to connect to remote computers and manage files as if they were on your local system.
